1965 Mustang

Joe’s 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe

Classic Beauty Meets Modern Convenience

When Ford launched the Mustang in the latter part of 1964, they had no idea that they were about to introduce a car that would truly stand the test of time and become an all time classic! It is truly one of the most beloved cars of all time! We were thrilled when Joe brought his sweet 1965 Mustang to us for an overhaul. His vision – keep it looking stock, but add make it drive and perform like a modern vehicle. The end result is a true resto-mod that will have Joe smiling for years to come!

Among the many modifications that we made to this classic Pony car is providing a new heartbeat by dropping in a new Prestige Motors 347 cu. in. stroker motor and mated it to a Bowler built Tremec TKX 5-speed transmission. The engine has a sinister look thanks to a CVP Wraptor serpentine belt system, which also makes it much easier to maintain, and a DeWitts dual fan radiator is tasked with keeping that engine running cool! With the additional power this engine produces, we also improved braking by upgrading to 4-wheel disc brakes from Baer Brakes.

Next, we made sure that this car looks as good as it runs! We applied a fresh coat of BASF paint to the doors and interior, and also updated the gauge cluster with a new Dakota Digital system, providing modern displays without compromising the OEM look!

There are many other areas that were touched as part of this project and we want to give a special thank you to everyone at National Parts Depot, Summit Racing, Quick Performance, Griot’s Garage, and Inline Tube for all of the other goodies that were needed to get Joe’s Mustang back on the road where she belongs!
