SEMA 2018 – Lethal Cat is Let Out of Its Cage
Roaring out of its cage, KTL Restorations Inc, who makes their den in Danville, Virginia, unleashes the Lethal Cat. Kurt Lawrance, known as “The Cougar Specialist” is honored to be able to unveil this mystical cat just in time for Halloween. All eyes will be on this Glasurit, a brand of BASF, Competition Yellow painted 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator with Black Houndstooth interior, and original numbers matching 428 CJ at this year’s SEMA event in Las Vegas.
“Lethal Cat”, as named by Don Emmons of Musclecars Classics, was in the Cliff Ernst (Tennessee Yenko Camaro Fame) car collection. Chuck Donaldson currently owns this exceptional example of one of Mercury’s finest Cougars. Sadly in 2014, an under hood fire took many lives out of this cat with severe damage.
KTL hand rebuilt this car to showroom quality. Kurt Lawrance is known for his high-quality paint finishes through unique self-taught techniques utilizing top of the line BASF products. Warped and burnt exterior body panels were patched and straightened. Melted and water damaged interior pieces such as the original door panels were salvaged and painstakingly repaired. Special details include custom “Lethal Cat” floor mats along with KTL dog dish style center caps. No detail was left undone.
